LIBYA - Why are we there?

I'll be honest with you, I have no clue while we are in Libya. I can't explain why this country was so important for the world community to intervene to "protect" the citizens.

I have several questions that I would like answered, by anyone please;

1) Obviously why Libya and not any other country in the world currently in turmoil?

2) Why is the United States NOT taking command of this operation?

3) Why is NATO taking command of this operation (remember, NATO is supposed to be for the defense of Member nations only)?

4) Why was Congress not given a chance to approve this operation?

5) Who are the rebels? Can we be certain they ARE not a radical Islamic group?

6) Why are we wasting money on this war that obviously does not need our support, when we have such need for that money in our own nation?

Fox News has reported that Alexandra V. Tobias of Florida has plead guilty to the murder of her child whose crying was such a distraction from her precious Farmville. She explained that she shook the baby stopped, had a cigarette to compose herself and then shook the baby more.

25-50 YEARS is all she's facing. Messed up.

Being a recovering Farmville addict still doesn't allow me to sympathize with this woman.

Omaha's Anti-Discrimination Ordinance

The City of Omaha in Nebraska failed to pass an ordinance on October 26th that would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. I for one am very happy they failed to pass it. Not because I don't care about those individuals who are different than me but because we don't need yet another reason for someone to be able to sue.

Not to mention the fact that the ordinance would have been unconstitutional. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". That means you can't make a law that would punish ANY religion for it's beliefs.

Photo Identification to be Able to Vote!

Why is it we are required by LAW to provide a photo identification to prove we are authorized to buy cigarettes, beer, or to even drive a car. But we don't need one to vote?

Do you not understand that people are being elected that can ultimately decide how much of your money will be taken from you or whether someone may live or die?

These activist judges only want to continue to erode this country away.

The Tea Party Revolution

Ever since B. Hussein Obama was elected in 2008 the Tea Party movement has been gaining strength and momentum. With this growth and progress, there comes a great risk. You see in the past the 3rd party has typically spoiled the election for a movement (Ross Perot, Ron Paul, etc.) giving it to the person who is least beneficial.

In this election cycle we are seeing a lot of Tea Party minded individuals beat the worn out Republican candidate who the establishment wants. I'm concerned, that because the Republican establishment does not realize it's members are revolting, will not enthusiastically support these winners, thus keeping us in the same position our country finds itself in today.

Gary Coleman Hospitalized - Serious Medical Condition

Gary Coleman was hospitalized in a Provo, Utah hospital on Wednesday with what we're being told is a serious medical condition.

With all of the medical ailments he's had in his life, I hope he can pull through this condition just like he has in the past.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

It is expected in a report to be released today that the Barack Hussein Obama White House instructed Rahm Emanuel to have President Bill Clinton speak to Senate hopeful Rep. Joe Sestak to drop out of the race for possibly a position in the Obama regime.

Now I know that most of you don't really understand the implications of this, but what you are essentially witnessing is bribery of a public official. Bribery and strong arm tactics that come from all the way at the top. What's more, the Democrats refuse to appoint a special counsel to investigate this.

Barack just expects YOU to believe what he types up as the truth. Haven't you started to see the cracks in this man yet? What will it take for you to see that this man is NOT who he says he is?

Well my friends, here I sit at my desk in this office finally back from my CCFM (Conference for Catholic Facility Management) conference in sunny Southern California. It wasn't a bad conference at all, just long with a lot of hard work.

Upon my return, I find an email on my crackbook, errr..... facebook account that someone left me basically saying they are finally deleting me because they just can't take anymore of what I say. I of course try to reply back to them but they have blocked me. That's ok though, they weren't worth the characters on the screen anyway.

According to the Mail Online, researchers of the Neuromodulation of Emotion - NEMO - faculty at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn say the spray uses the hormone oxytocin, sometimes called 'the cuddle chemical' as it stimulates affectionate feelings in humans.

Let's face it, cuddling isn't for everyone and if women are going to want us to use this spray we need to create one for them to do...I don't know....quit nagging?

On April 24th, the Hubble Space Telescope celebrated it's 20th year in orbit. To commemorate the event, NASA released the photo above.

What you are looking at, is a Nebula, basically a nursery for stars. This nebula is estimated to be approximately 6,500 to 10,000 light years away from Earth. The picture taken is 3.1 light years wide. In other words it would take you 3.1 years to cross from one side of the picture to the other, IF you were traveling at the speed of light (which just happens to be 670,616,629.4 miles per hour).

With the impending shut down of the Hubble program, I only hope that we get to see even more stunning pictures of our universe.

Aliens are bad....according to Stephen Hawking

In a story that ran in the Sunday Times, Dr. Stephen Hawking suggests that any intelligent lifeforms out there are probably not going to be up to any good if they find us. And, I guess I would agree...kinda.

I have always said, that the likelihood of alien life on other planets is a 100% positive probability. There are BILLIONS of galaxies out there, each with hundreds of millions of stars, and most of those stars at the center of their own little solar system.

Most of the life out there is probably micro organisms and what not, but there are bound to be other unique life forms that we can only imagine.

I think that if an alien life finds us first, it's bound to mean bad things. If they're advanced enough to actually travel from their world to ours, what could we the technologically slow, planet Earth have to offer them? Well he's right, the answer is simple. RESOURCES. Whether it's mineral, or us, that's all we can offer. They're certainly not going to come to us asking to look at our pretty art.

But on the other hand maybe they are just like us, and are curious. Explorers. Either way, good or bad, I hope it happens while i'm alive.

Batter Up!

You are my friend! It doesn't matter what team you're batting for, I still don't dislike or hate you. I just may not care for your team. Heck you can even be a switch hitter on my favorite team but I'm still going to consider you my friend.

But, just because the team your playing a game against is your "current" enemy, that doesn't mean that they have to create special rules for you because they have more fans than your team. That's just ridiculous, and I can guarantee you wouldn't want to give up any "special rules" if the table's were turned.

So please, remember. Don't allow your team to demand/accept "special rules" just because you don't have as many fans as the others. If you are yourself, and you play ball with the same passion as everything else you do, then you can certainly win, and probably get even more fans. You are an awesome friend to me, and I'd hate to have to lose you, just because you show poor sportsmanship.

The Other 95%

Well apparently there is a new group that is trying to shut down the voice of Americans and in particular those involved in the Tea Party movement. A new website called The Other 95% are going around spewing outright lies in an attempt to discredit them.

First for a little background, please watch this video for a small reminder.

This video can't be anymore clear than what you hear. "Not any of your taxes". Bull! Just in my school district alone, our property taxes were raised $1.79 per $1,000.00 value by our school district because of budget shortfalls. How many of you know someone who goes to a tanning salon? Did you know those people will now have to pay an additional 10% tax beginning July 1st? If you use a flexible spending account through your employer, you are also going to be limited as to how much pre-tax money you can put in it. The list goes on and on, but I won't bore you with that. If you want to know what they are, go look them up for yourself (and no, don't just go to whitehouse.gov and call it gospel).

C'mon the list is just growing and growing. You may not be receiving too many tax increases but those people that give you a paycheck are, and guess what that means. YOU LOSE! Oh and lets not forget about those favorite toys or clothes you have, yep the price on those is going to go up too because the president is taxing the crap out of them.

Don't be mad at the businesses for raising the costs to you, they are in business to make money. You may not think that's fair, but that's what it's all about. And I'd be willing to bet if you were in their shoes you'd do the same exact thing.

Apocalyptic science fiction is among my very favorite genres so I'm truly hoping they don't ruin this series with another part 3, which I felt sucked badly.

It's hard to believe it, but 29 years ago today the very last episode of Soap aired on television. After 4 seasons and 85 episodes, this show still doesn't get much of the credit it deserves. Although last year the Tates and the Campbells were ranked at 17 in T.V. Guides list of "T.V.'s Top Families".

Even though it created so many controversies because of the themes of episodes or the characters themselves, it was still a very good show that should be brought back on TV Land or Nick @ Night. I mean c'mon they've had worst shows on their. What do you think. Oh, and enjoy this clip.

Council Bluffs Community School District

So apparently, the Council Bluffs School board does not have to practice what it requires to be taught. Oh wait, never mind economics isn't a required course in the CBSD.

In these times of economic hardship, they have decided to increase the property taxes on homeowners by $1.79 per $1,000.00 of value to their home. According to the Daily Nonpareil, "Board member J.J. Harvey cast the only vote opposing the increase, but the six voting in support said they had no real choice if education was to be a district priority." which really doesn't make sense. I mean they haven't even looked at ways to cut costs substantially.

I would recommend at a minimum that the CBSD look at the following ways to cut spending;

1) Re-negotiate ALL labor contracts for support staff (does not include classroom instructors) in an effort to decrease the benefits paid out.
2) Freeze the wages and benefits for all supervisory positions.
3) Immediately freeze all hiring with the exception of classroom instructors.
4) Suspend ALL non-emergency capital expenditures.
5) Establish a community facility committee that will investigate, evaluate, all operations related to facility management so that they can operate more efficiently to save money.

When are ALL of these politicians going to understand that they, just like us, MUST cut their spending to match their income. It's not like we can go out and force our employers to give us more money without their input.

Well a team of Harvard astrophysicists using new measurments have just discovered that the Milky Way Galaxy is not the size we have thought. It's 50 % bigger. That's a ton of new stars, each one capable of supporting new life.

Oh, but wait! The cosmological community has been really busy lately.

In a press conference today, the American Astronomical Society discussed some new findings.

Earth-like planets may in fact be common in the galaxy, increasing the likelihood of extraterrestrial life.

By observing the remains of smashed up asteroids around dead stars, astronomers were able to deduce their chemical composition. They found that the dust of many chewed-up asteroids resembles the materials inside Earth and the other small, rocky inner planets of our solar system.

I for one find this news to be very thrilling. It allows my mind to dream of so many new and wonderful worlds!

Drinking Age to go to 19!

Well, a group of about 100 college presidents are suggesting that the drinking age in the United States revert back to 18 because the current law is not working, only creating a culture of clandestine binge drinking.

As for myself, I have always felt that the drinking age should be lowered back to 19 ever since I turned 18. 19 is more logical because you have so many 18 year olds who are still in high school, and that will create problems for those who are underage and still need to graduate.

If a person is old enough to buy cigarettes, pick a president, condemn a person to life in prison or even death, or to enter into contracts, and to even die for their country, I think they should be given the right to drink. Why does society always seem to have to tell everyone how to live their lives?

Ok, so we've just returned from seeing the latest installment of the Star Wars drama. And I've got to tell you, WOW! This movie is going to be great in the transition from the big screen to our homes on a weekly basis.

Don't worry, just because it's animated, you aren't losing anything. George is just trying to transition to television with an ultimate goal of weekly "live action" episodes, BUT, that isn't going to happen if we don't show interest in this movie. I'm asking you to get to your local theater and help make sure this iconic American story continues.

Bright Chunks At Phoenix Lander's Mars Site Must Have Been Ice

June 19, 2008 NASA -- Dice-size crumbs of bright material have vanished from inside a trench where they were photographed by NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander four days ago, convincing scientists that the material was frozen water that vaporized after digging exposed it.

"It must be ice," said Phoenix Principal Investigator Peter Smith of the University of Arizona, Tucson. "These little clumps completely disappearing over the course of a few days, that is perfect evidence that it's ice. There had been some question whether the bright material was salt. Salt can't do that."

The chunks were left at the bottom of a trench informally called "Dodo-Goldilocks" when Phoenix's Robotic Arm enlarged that trench on June 15, during the 20th Martian day, or sol, since landing. Several were gone when Phoenix looked at the trench early today, on Sol 24.

Also early today, digging in a different trench, the Robotic Arm connected with a hard surface that has scientists excited about the prospect of next uncovering an icy layer.

The Phoenix science team spent Thursday analyzing new images and data successfully returned from the lander earlier in the day.

Studying the initial findings from the new "Snow White 2" trench, located to the right of "Snow White 1," Ray Arvidson of Washington University in St. Louis, co-investigator for the robotic arm, said, "We have dug a trench and uncovered a hard layer at the same depth as the ice layer in our other trench."

On Sol 24, Phoenix extended the first trench in the middle of a polygon at the "Wonderland" site. While digging, the Robotic Arm came upon a firm layer, and after three attempts to dig further, the arm went into a holding position. Such an action is expected when the Robotic Arm comes upon a hard surface.

Meanwhile, the spacecraft team at Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Denver is preparing a software patch to send to Phoenix in a few days so scientific data can again be saved onboard overnight when needed. Because of a large amount a duplicative file-maintenance data generated by the spacecraft Tuesday, the team is taking the precaution of not storing science data in Phoenix's flash memory, and instead downlinking it at the end of every day, until the conditions that produced those duplicative data files are corrected.

"We now understand what happened, and we can fix it with a software patch," said Phoenix Project Manager Barry Goldstein of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena. "Our three-month schedule has 30 days of margin for contingencies like this, and we have used only one contingency day out of 24 sols. The mission is well ahead of schedule. We are making excellent progress toward full mission success."

Disappearing Ice

These images were acquired by NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander's Surface Stereo Imager on the 21st and 25th days of the mission, or Sols 20 and 24 (June 15 and 18, 2008).

These images show sublimation of ice in the trench informally called "Dodo-Goldilocks" over the course of four days.

In the lower left corner, lumps disappear, similar to the process of evaporation.

The Phoenix Mission is led by the University of Arizona, Tucson, on behalf of NASA. Project management of the mission is by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. Spacecraft development is by Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Denver.

Phoenix Lander - Eureka of the Week (19 May 2008)

Well, it's been 9 months 22 days, and about 423 million miles since the Phoenix Lander left Earth. And today, it successfully landed on the Martian surface.

The lander's mission is to study the history of water and search for complex organic molecules. Hopefully this first in a series of Scout landers will begin to lay the ground work for future MANNED missions to the Red Planet.

The Phoenix Lander, not unlike its mythical counterpart, has arisen from the ashes of two other Mars exploration programs; The Mars Surveyor Program (2001) and the Mars Polar Lander.

Thanks to the Mars Odyssey Orbiter (2002) we already know that their is large amounts of subsurface water-ice in the Arctic Northern Plains and that is where the Phoenix is at. The Lander is going to dig down below the surface and bring ice up to its platform for study and research.

Another aspect of the Phoenix's mission is to study whether the Martian soil could support life.

I'm going to do my best to give you as many updates as possible along with my thoughts on this exciting mission that no one on Earth is going to care about because it has nothing to do with politics or how it will help your pocketbook.

Jiang Xiaojuan - Hero of the Week (19 May 2008)

This week I have chosen a woman from China who, after the massive 7.9 earthquake on May 12, 2008 took it upon herself to breast feed an amazing 9 children. None of them hers.

In today's society where so many people only think about themselves, it is a pleasure to hear of such a complete act of random kindness and compassion. Please keep her in your hearts and prayers.

JIANGYOU, China (CNN) -- A Chinese police officer is being hailed as a hero after taking it upon herself to breast-feed several infants who were separated from their mothers or orphaned by China's devastating earthquake.

Police officer Jiang Xiaojuan, 29, was feeding nine babies at one point.

Officer Jiang Xiaojuan, 29, the mother of a 6-month-old boy, responded to the call of duty and the instincts of motherhood when the magnitude-7.9 quake struck on May 12.

"I am breast-feeding, so I can feed babies. I didn't think of it much," she said. "It is a mother's reaction and a basic duty as a police officer to help."

The death toll in the earthquake jumped Thursday to more than 51,000, and more than 29,000 are missing, according to government figures. Thousands of children have been orphaned; many others have mothers who simply can't feed them.

At one point, Jiang was feeding nine babies.

"Some of the moms were injured; their fathers were dead ... five of them were orphans. They've gone away to an orphanage now," she said.

She still feeds two babies, including Zhao Lyuyang, son of a woman who survived the quake but whose breast milk stopped flowing because of the traumatic conditions.

"We walked out of the mountains for a long time. I hadn't eaten in days when I got here, and my milk was not enough," said that mother, Zhao Zong Jun. "She saved my baby. I thank her so much. I can't express how I feel."

Liu Rong, another mother whose breast milk stopped in the trauma, was awed by Jiang's kindness.

"I am so touched because she has her own baby, but she fed the disaster babies first," Liu said. "If she hadn't fed my son, he wouldn't have had enough to eat."

Jiang has became a celebrity, followed by local media and proclaimed on a newspaper front page as "China's Mother No. 1."

She's embarrassed by the fuss.

"I think what I did was normal," she said. "In a quake zone, many people do things for others. This was a small thing, not worth mentioning."

There has been a huge outpouring of support from families who want to adopt babies orphaned by the quake. But that process takes time, and there are mouths to feed.

Jiang misses her own son, who's being cared for through the emergency by in-laws in another town, but she is aware of the new connections she's made.

"I feel about these kids I fed just like my own. I have a special feeling for them. They are babies in a disaster."

Parents to Sue Maker of Metal Baseball Bats Over Son's Injury

WAYNE, N.J. — A New Jersey couple, whose son was struck in the chest with a line drive, is planning to sue the maker of a metal baseball bat used in the game.

Two years ago, Steven Domalewski was pitching when the ball slammed into his chest and stopped his heart. He was resuscitated but now has brain damage and is severely disabled.

The family contends metal baseball bats are inherently unsafe for youth games because the ball comes off them much faster than from wooden bats. The lawsuit will also be filed against Little League Baseball and a sporting goods chain that sold the bat.

An attorney says Domalewski will need millions of dollars worth of medical care for the rest of his life.

The bat maker says while it sympathizes with Steven and his family, the bat is not to blame for the injury.

Vatican: It's OK for Catholics to Believe in Aliens

There could be alien life forms and believing they exist isn't contradictory to having faith in God, the top astronomer at the Vatican said in an interview published Tuesday.

In the Vatican newspaper piece, titled "The Extraterrestrial Is My Brother," the Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes said the expansiveness of the universe means there could be life on planets other than Earth.

"In my opinion this possibility exists," Funes, the director of the Vatican Observatory, told L'Osservatore Romano. "Astronomers believe the universe is made up of 100 billion galaxies, each of which consists of 100 billion stars. ... Life forms could exist in theory even without oxygen or hydrogen."

Funes said that there might even be other intelligent life out there, but believing in its existence doesn't pose a problem for those of the Catholic faith.

"It is possible. So far we have no proof. But certainly in a universe so big we can not exclude this hypothesis," he told the paper.

"As there is a multiplicity of creatures on earth, so there may be other beings, intelligent, created by God. This does not conflict with our faith, because we cannot put limits on the creative freedom of God."

He said human beings could even consider another life form an "extraterrestrial brother" because it, too, would be one of God's creatures.

"How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?" Funes said. "Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother'? It would still be part of creation."

The interview covered a variety of topics, including the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and science, and the theological implications of the existence of alien life.

Funes said science, especially astronomy, does not contradict religion, touching on a theme of Pope Benedict XVI, who has made exploring the relationship between faith and reason a key aspect of his papacy.

The Bible "is not a science book," Funes said, adding that he believes the Big Bang theory is the most "reasonable" explanation for the creation of the universe. The theory says the universe began billions of years ago in the explosion of a single, super-dense point that contained all matter.

But he said he continues to believe that "God is the creator of the universe and that we are not the result of chance."

Funes urged the church and the scientific community to leave behind divisions caused by Galileo's persecution 400 years ago, saying the incident has "caused wounds."

In 1633 the astronomer was tried as a heretic and forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolved around the sun. Church teaching at the time placed Earth at the center of the universe.

"The church has somehow recognized its mistakes," he said. "Maybe it could have done it better, but now it's time to heal those wounds and this can be done through calm dialogue and collaboration."

Pope John Paul declared in 1992 that the ruling against Galileo was an error resulting from "tragic mutual incomprehension."

The Vatican Observatory has been at the forefront of efforts to bridge the gap between religion and science. Its scientist-clerics have generated top-notch research and its meteorite collection is considered one of the world's best.

The observatory, founded by Pope Leo XIII in 1891, is based in Castel Gandolfo, a lakeside town in the hills outside Rome where the pope has a summer residence. It also conducts research at an observatory at the University of Arizona, in Tucson.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been
with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was ,since his birth
records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as
having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the
rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe
it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies
(don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not
children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when
well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a
6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens
suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost
ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had
failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when
schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an
Aspirin to a student but could not inform parents when a student became
pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as
the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than
their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend
yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for
assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed
to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her
lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in
death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion, his daughter,
Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Want It Now,

Someone Else Is To Blame, and

I'm A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was

A Tennessee couple who lost their son in Iraq want an Arizona merchant to pay more than $40 billion in damages to survivors of soldiers whose names are on the anti-war shirts he is selling online.

A complaint seeking class-action status for the lawsuit by Robin and Michael Read says Dan Frazier of Flagstaff has no right to profit from commercial sale of products that use the dead soldiers' names without permission.

The change, requested Tuesday in federal court in Tennessee, would cover the heirs of all U.S. service members killed in the Middle East since Sept. 11, 2001, and seek $4 billion in compensatory damages and $36.5 billion of punitive damages.

The Reads' original lawsuit named only themselves as plaintiffs and sought $10 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Frazier's "Bush lied — They died" T-shirts, sold at his site CarryaBigSticker.com, list Iraq war casualties' names, and Frazier contends he is covered by First Amendment free-speech protections.

"We think it will be clear that this is political expression and not done for profit," said Lee Phillips, Frazier's attorney.

The Reads' amended complaint says Frazier has no right to make a profit from the commercial sale of products using the casualties' names without permission.

Frazier will ask that the lawsuit be transferred to the federal court in Arizona, which has already begun considering his challenge to an Arizona law barring use of slain service members' names for commercial purposes without permission, Phillips said.

A federal judge in Arizona said in a preliminary ruling that a portion of that state's law making violations a misdemeanor crime violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which guarantees freedom of speech and the press Arizona is among several states that have enacted similar laws.

The Reads' attorney, Frank Santore, said in an e-mail that court rules barred him from comment.

I'm thinking, that if perhaps we start creating t-shirts that display the names of every person killed by an illegal immigrant, drug dealer, or the abortionist mother. What if we create a t-shirt with the caption "Wright lied, they died! Racism isn't killing them, the fact that they are UNEDUCATED is!" and we place the names of all the black men and women who have been killed by Latinos, Asians, and yes blacks.

The College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska

This past Tuesday, Omaha Mayor, Mike Fahey went to Ohio to pitch his now famous proposal to move the College World Series from it's current location at Rosenblatt Stadium, North to Downtown Omaha.

This proposed move has brought about many criticisms, such as how is this going to be paid for, what will happen to Rosenblatt, and probably the largest would have to be the fact that Fahey has not asked or accepted any public input.

It would seem that since Fahey refused to take any input from either the citizens or city council of Omaha, he was broadcasting his intent of creating a legacy for himself. Now he has gone before the CWS in an apparent attempt to force the citizens to support the move, or else the CWS will be moved to another city.

This just goes to show how the liberal politicians feel they "know" what is best for the people of this country, and that the rest of us are just too damn stupid for our own good.

It's time to impeach Fahey before he does anymore damage, not just to Omaha, but to the rest of the region.

The First Amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I'm going to give you my thoughts on what this, the First Amendment from the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution means to real American's.

The first part which is related to religion only says that the United States Congress can make no law which gives preference to one religion or another. It also says that the United States Congress is prohibited from discouraging the organization of or participation in a religion, regardless of what it is. It doesn't say anything about being protected from one religion or another, it only says you HAVE A CHOICE as to what religion you wish to be.

Next we have the Freedom of Speech and of the Press. Now the key word here is "abridging". According to www.dictionary.com, abridging is defined as;

1. To shorten by omissions while retaining the basic contents: to abridge a reference book.
2. To reduce or lessen in duration, scope, authority, etc.; diminish; curtail: to abridge a visit; to abridge one's freedom.
3. To deprive; cut off.

As I see it, we have the right to say anything we want to say at all, and there isn't a damn thing anyone can say to stop us. But, I think that as American's we MUST be responsible and not abuse something that is so powerful as the Right to say anything we want to. I mean, you wouldn't want to talk about a military secret that could destroy or kill American troops, would you?

The Right to Assemble is a good one. It clearly states that we must assemble peaceably. This doesn't mean that we can go and just demonstrate or hold rally's in the streets of Washington or at city hall whenever you want. You can only do it peaceably when you receive a permit.
